Book an art demonstration or book reading

Art Demonstrations:

I am available to visit schools to give art demonstrations and workshops on creating abstract art such as can be seen in the image below. My rates are set out below. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a booking. I am currently only taking bookings for schools within 30 miles of Reading.

Book Readings:

I have published my debut book “The Scariest Dinosaur” and am available to give readings via video or live in schools. Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes a reading of my debut book, questions and discussion about how I developed the story and illustrations. I have given readings previously and testimonials are available.

I do NOT charge for coming into schools to read and talk about my books. Instead, I ask that schools promote my visit in advance and offer parents the opportunity to buy my books ahead of my visit.

Art Demonstration Rates

£125 per hour for first 3 hours (assumes 3 x 1 hour sessions) (£4.17 per pupil)

£100 per hour for next 2 hours (assumes 2 x 1 hour afternoon sessions) (£3.13 per pupil)

Materials must be supplied by the school.

*Per pupil cost based on class of 30

Details:

An art demonstration will typically run for 1 hour and will comprise the following:

• Introductions and how I became an artist

• Demonstration of abstract art painting

• Pupils painting their own abstract paintings with help, if needed

The school will need to provide painting materials, substrates to paint on and protective aprons.

Book Readings

Book readings last 30 minutes and involve an introduction to how I became an author and illustrator and how I plan and create my books and images. A reading of The Scariest Dinosaur is followed by questions before another reading of one my books currently under development and more questions and discussion.
